The St. John Church Music Ministry is a graded music program whose purposes are to praise and worship God, as well as to meet the musical needs of the congregation. The music staff includes the Minister of Music, Staff Musicians, Auxiliary Instrumentalists, Choir Directors and Team Leads. There are 7 Choirs and 4 Praise & Worship Teams that minister weekly, lifting up the Name of Jesus through the ministry of music.

SJCMMC is a combination of the Adult Choirs. The Minister of Music schedules the rehearsals. The choir sings the gamut of African-American sacred music including hymns, anthems, praise and worship, traditional and contemporary gospel. This combined choir ministers for special occasions.

Rehearsals are held Mondays at 7:15 p.m. at the Grand Prairie Campus. The choir ministers at the Grand Prairie Campus.
Hallelujah Chorus

Rehearsals are held Saturdays at 12:15 p.m. at the Grand Prairie Campus. The choir ministers at the Grand Prairie Campus.
Male Chorus

MC is a choir made up of men, 18 yrs. and older. The choir sings primarily quartet, hymns, anthems, praise and worship, traditional and contemporary gospel. Rehearsals are held Thursdays, 8:15 p.m. at the Grand Prairie Campus. The choir ministers at the Grand Prairie Campus.
Southlake Choir

Rehearsals are held Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. at the Southlake Campus. The choir ministers at the Southlake Campus.
Children’s Choir – Grand Prairie

CCGP is a choir of children who are in kindergarten – 5th grade. The choir sings music that is appropriate for children including hymns, children’s contemporary gospel and praise and worship. The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Prairie Campus.

CCSL is a choir of children who are in kindergarten – 5th grade. The choir sings music that is appropriate for children including hymns, children’s contemporary gospel and praise and worship. The choir rehearses Sundays following 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. at the Southlake Campus.

Ordered Steps Praise Dance Ministry

The Ordered Steps Praise Dance ministry utilizes dance movement and pageantry to minister the gospel. The ministry equips women and men with the knowledge and understanding of God’s purpose for dance in the worship experience. Ordered Steps does not “perform”, but instead ministers to God’s people. While there is not a requirement for previous dance experience, members and those looking to become members should possess a willing and cooperative spirit. Ordered Steps Praise Dance meets at the Grand Prairie campus and consists of members who are at least 18 years of age.

The Use Me for Thee Drama Ministry ministers through imagery, movement, speech, and music to bring to life real and relevant portrayals of God’s word.
Inspired Praise Dance Ministry

Inspired Praise Dance (IPD) Ministry utilizes creative expression and dance movement to visually communicate the power of the gospel through spoken word and inspired music accompaniment. IPD provides a space where students learn to interpret, express, and minister the scripture through dance. Ministry members are at least 12 years of age.
Youthful Expressions of Praise Mime Ministry

Youthful Expression of Praise (YEP) Mime Ministry utilizes creative expression and dramatized movement to visually communicate the power of the gospel through spoken word and inspired accompaniment. YEP provides a space where students learn to interpret, express, and minister the scripture through mime (improvisation). Ministry members are at least 10 years of age and include male and female students.
Angels of Praise Dance Ministry
