The SJC 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting begin Wednesday, March 6 and ends Friday, March 29 (Good Friday). As we move from faith to faith during our 21 days of prayer and fasting together as a church family, let us pray for MORE in 2024. We want to strive to do more in the church, in the community and in the world. We want to transform lives with the message of Jesus Christ. We have a work to do!
Our objective for this season of prayer and fasting as a church is to become a 5G ministry that is all about connectivity. The 5G’s are practical principles for spiritual maturity. During our 21 days of prayer and fasting, it is our desire to strengthen our connection with God and others.
We have five points of connectivity: Grace – Gather – Grow – Give– Go. It all starts with grace – our salvation, our relationship with God and our walk with the Lord. We praise God for His grace!
As we enter the season of prayer and fasting as a church, let us purify and consecrate ourselves. As we go forward, we have to pray for one another, the church, our community and the world. We are trusting God to lead, guide and sustain us during our 21 days of prayer and fasting.

Five Components of the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting:
1. Personal Quiet Time: Daily personal devotion or quiet time is simply time set apart to spend with God. During this season, plan to set aside more time to spend with God every day and be consistent. Quiet time is an important part of a Christian’s everyday life. This time should allow one to draw closer to God without distractions. It consists of practicing the spiritual disciplines of prayer the spiritual disciplines of prayer, worship, listening, journaling, sculpture reading and meditating on God’s Word. We must desire to know God better and be willing to obey the Lord God that we seek to know. It is imperative that every believer intensifies his or her commitment to living in accordance and obedience to the Word of God to experience the glory of the Lord like never before!
2. Church-wide 6:00AM Prayer Call: Join the SJC Family for 6:00Am prayer call that begins Wednesday, March 6 (including and Sunday) and ends March 31 (Resurrection Sunday). Each day there is a prayer focus and scripture . Each morning Pastor Davis and/or SJC representative will lead in devotion and prayer. PRAYER LINE: 530-881-1212 / CODE: 291-359-153
3. Personal Fast: Your personal fast should be so impactful that in your sacrifice, you are constantly reminded of the power and presence of God in your life. Choose your personal fast:
-
- Abstaining from certain foods (example: Daniel Fast, eliminating meats, dairy, sugars, junk food, fried food, etc.)
- Minimizing the use of technology/television/social media
- Eliminating non-essential spending
Divine cleaning and renewal of our bodies are some of the benefits of a personal fast. Prayer of God’s wisdom to make appropriate choices during this time of fasting.
It is recommended that you consult with your physician before beginning a food fast. Remember to drink plenty of water and get sufficient rest.
4. 21-Day Devotional: We will start each day with The Word, prayer, and focus on our theme. Our 21 daily devotions are included in this guide. Each morning, Pastor and/or SJC representative will lead in devotion and prayer. PRAYER LINE: 530-881-1212 / CODE: 291-359-153
5. 21-Day Journal: Journal your 21 days of fasting and prayer.
